My style is not very ladylike but there’s something about the pastel palette that makes me want to be a true lady. All from the so many beautiful lemon, mint, pale pink and dusty blue hues that get my attention each time.
This mint green number is perfect in every way as it is designed to fit the stereotype that comes with pastel hues – babies, innocence, softness and beauty. The detailing on this dress couldn’t be more spot on, the pockets, buttons, and bow tie statisfy my needs on this outfit.
I combined it with blush pink ankle strap heels to extend the pastel theme and feel more ladylike. I like to wear pastel hues for the warmer months, oh and in case you missed it,2016 will officially be the hottest year on the books in more than 120 years of record keeping by U.S. agencies. I prefer to wear pastel colors together instead of fusing them with bold colors. How do you like to wear yours? Let me know in the comments section.
Welcome back from the weekend, my prayer is made some happy memories to take you through the week. Is October moving very fast or what? We cannot ignore the fact that Kampala has been way too heated lately. It has caused me to take risks like not carry a sweater with me as I leave home which usually is very unusual that my friends nick named me (Ka sweater.)
I find comfort in light and soft fabrics especially on hot days just like this Ombre Caroline Morgan dress. I love Caroline Morgan designs because comfort is a priority to them , this is reflected in their choice of fabric and style. Most of their clothing also have a knit touch to die for like the hem of my dress. Details like finishing, type of straps matter a lot to me and this dress checked all the boxes. 🙂
Ombre art took over 2016 by a storm from hair, to nails, lips and clothing too. I hadn’t found anything ombre I fancied so much like this dress. I matched it with a maroon purse that just settles with the pink and white color scheme. I hope you like it 🙂 and have a pleasant week ahead.
I had an exciting weekend. My girls and I stepped out of town to celebrate Sheilah’s birthday by Lake Victoria. I had so much fun that I forgot to capture some of the cutest moments (Shy Face) but at least I managed to capture my outfit of the day.
This short sleeve dress is something I was not so sure about purchasing. I had major doubts about it flattering my body build, yet I loved the freedom it comes with. We all know how that ended, it is on the blog 🙂 The not so obvious high low hemmed theme is something I like. It makes me feel more secure especially in windy weather because my behind (which I do not have much control over) is well covered.
The first thought to match it with long strap sandals but that would be so obvious. I wanted to be free too. I wound up settling for a different kind of strap sandals, the double strap. I achieved the freedom feel I wanted to experience the entire day. Oh and by the way, freedom is my biggest inspo. What’s yours?
Pastel colors are life. There softness bring a breath of fresh air to an outfit just like flowers do, no wonder they’re trending this year! Putting this outfit together was no brainer mainly because I had a bag of the same color shade as the shorts. This gave me the freedom to wear whatever shade of shoes I pleased because the bag had a friend (Ha Ha).Pastel colors have not been very easy for me to match in the past because they seem to rebel black all the time, I was pleased when I got this one together with not much effort.
I am trying change my entire closet to a minimalist one but boy oh boy, my love for prints keeps letting me down. But who would resist this top? 🙂 I have won these red pumps consecutively for about two weeks now, they’re super comf and they look great in my feet. This is the kind of outfit you are likely to find me wearing on a Saturday.
Take a moment and imagine a typical guys reaction to the Title of this post 😂Anyway back to business, 2016 has been an excting year for fashion! Dominated by the neutrals concept. The “nude” trend which also is branch of the neutrals concept is something fresh, not like many other trends that have made a come back. Which explains the resurgence of this trend not forgetting the very beautiful fact that it celebrates the different skin tones. I am sure, it has taught many of us to love the color of our skins even more.
Brown as a color has been a major design element since the inception of the nude notion. I have have always loved brown as a color, mostly because of its rich beautiful hues. It is exciting to see the various hues of brown being celebrated. It took me a while to get an outfit that very close to my skin tone. I landed on a skirt and then the camisole a few weeks later( You cannot imagine how excited I was). It was no doubt that I was going to go monochrome on this one. I added a golden metallic belt to add poise to the outfit and a chocker to make it fun. Chocolate / mahogany is my nude, what’s yours?
If I heard someone talk about sweaters and boots I would most likely eavesdrop because that is comfort and style talk. It is like those buy one get one promos. These two items manage to look stylish every time. If I knew earlier in life that tucking in sweaters would look this stylish I would have done it with my school uniform.
This over sized sweater is one of my comfort clothes, it can work well on my couch on a lazy Sunday, a night out with shorts and on a random evening. I like it’s rich (ruby woo) color. Army green is another rich and diverse color. It goes well with almost every color. I finished off the look with brown boots which are my favorite right now (because they look like those sock boots I am dreaming about) and a chunky blue bag.I salute the inventor of high waist jeans.
When tucking in choose an over sized sweater.
Avoid tucking in neatly.
Have a beautiful September, hope you caught a glimpse of the eclipse.
Welcome back from the weekend, I am hoping you had enough rest. So this full size dress got my attention while I was shopping downtown. There was something about the print that I could not resist. It has hung in my closet for a while waiting on motivation to make it work which I got after two months. First, I combined the dress with only a belt but something was missing. I layered a white shirt under the dress and viola everything fell in place. I had my perfect ensemble. Rich and playful just like it. 🙂 A full size dress can be styled in different ways however, with just a belt and boots for a laid back look, a hut and sandals with chunky jewelry for a weekend look. Let’s go out and catch our dreams, have a fruitful week.
