It has been a while since I showed face on here, that’s because I decided not to hid to social media pressure. Other than that, I have been doing fantastic, hoping you have are doing well yourself and have managed to survive any complications.
Last weekend the girls and I decided to take a break off our busy schedules to try something we all hadn’t done before. After many deliberations, we settled for horse riding.
No one warned us it would be a work out which we should have guessed, I mean no activity that involves riding is easy. Mine was called Apple, she’s 9 years old. I would describe her as a beautiful, bright eyed, calm yet cocky horse.
From transportation, to warfare, to agriculture, horses have surely left their mark on human history; bonding with them was a worthwhile experience.
Beginnings are usually exciting and motivating because they represent hope😀.So far,2017 has been very good to us in Kampala, weather wise especially because January is usually a hot month. I am very grateful for this 🙂
Dressing up in the cold weather can be challenging most times especailly when I intend to appear feminine, chic and warm at the same time. I prefer sweaters to jackets even though I own more jackets.
This double layered skirt, is everything. I am fascinated by its meticulous attention to detail. The maker should be a person of depth. I mean it’s double layered yet still see through. I tucked in a juniper green pullover sweater to compliment the earth color of the skirt. It is imporatant to get proportions right, balance is key. If you are wearing a mini skirt, an oversized sweater is ideal and vice versa. Equilibrium is essential for colour and texture as well. A monochrome skirt will balance the bold pattern of a sweater, while a simpler knit sweater will look great with an embellished skirt.
I finished my look with brown boots to remain earth strong.
My style is not very ladylike but there’s something about the pastel palette that makes me want to be a true lady. All from the so many beautiful lemon, mint, pale pink and dusty blue hues that get my attention each time.
This mint green number is perfect in every way as it is designed to fit the stereotype that comes with pastel hues – babies, innocence, softness and beauty. The detailing on this dress couldn’t be more spot on, the pockets, buttons, and bow tie statisfy my needs on this outfit.
I combined it with blush pink ankle strap heels to extend the pastel theme and feel more ladylike. I like to wear pastel hues for the warmer months, oh and in case you missed it,2016 will officially be the hottest year on the books in more than 120 years of record keeping by U.S. agencies. I prefer to wear pastel colors together instead of fusing them with bold colors. How do you like to wear yours? Let me know in the comments section.
Let’s take a moment and appreciate the author of off shoulder pieces (silence), thank you. There are trends that translate to wardrobe essentials, and this one is definitely one of them. Off shoulder tops are very easy to style, considering the fact they look good on every piece worn on the lower side of the body.
I styled mine with culottes pants, jelly shoes and see through socks. This gets me thinking how much fashion transitions. I could not have imagined as a young teenager that jelly shoes, socks in open shoes would ever be a thing. Socks in open shoes were an absolutefaux pas. Dad had a habit of wearing socks in sandals when he got back home from work, nothing irritated me more.
Prints give me life 😃 this african print off shoulder top was custom-made by my friend Juliana . The outfit can be worn to a casual event, on a weekend or any casual outing. The top can be styled differently for other occasions like Sunday service, to work on a Friday, lunch with friends …
I hope you like this style. In the meantime, I think the time for me to change my hair is come, I am open to suggestions 😘
Happy December, these past few days have been as happy as this outfit :). I have no one to thank but God for this.
Suspeders were first invented in 1820 by Albert Thurston. They have been in fashion for the last century, and have never gone out of style. I doubt they ever will, I mean they have survived a century! These distressed denim pants are my favourite because of the stylish elements( length, the fact they are distressed) and they fit just right.
Denim is the easiest thing to style for sure. These can go well with heels as they go with sneakers. This shade of denim looks better with colors close to white.
I had never tried a sweater on these pants, I was impressed with the look. I like payful outfits, I am slowly putting an end to purchasing heels to more playful footwear, we will see how long this lasts.
Happy Wednesday, this is one of my favorite days because it carries sentiments of encouragement to carry on because, there is something to look forward to, you guessed it -the weekend! I have trouble saying those two words lately without thinking of the singer, I know I am not the only one 😉.
I find history and vintage clothing interesting, maybe because they both ask questions. I drive a lot of inspiration from 80’s and 90’s fashion you may think I’ve spent time studying it yet it comes naturally. It is definitely a breath of fresh air from the trends that often crowd the fashion scene.
Most people have a thing for the fabric, denim and I am not an exception. This skirt got the ooohhs and aaahhs from me at first contact as did the Italian Ankle strap heels who’s color is very obsessive. I matched these items with another classic piece, the pull neck shirt that never disappoints. What do you think?
